  Reiki can be learnt by anyone wishing to – it is a simple case of having an open mind and trying it for yourself. It is there is the universe for us to tap into and benefit from. Reiki was re-introduced in the early 1900’s as a means of helping us in our worldly challenges.
  
  The First Degree is taught in a one-day workshop and gives the basic principles; the history; where to lay your hands; how to heal yourself, your family, your friends and your pets.
  
  Reiki Second Degree again is taught in a one-day workshop, this time introducing the Reiki symbols and how to use them. It enables you to perform distant and absent healing, and achieve practitioner status should you wish to practice.

The underlying theory is that there are certain points or "reflex areas" on the feet and hands that are connected energetically to specific organs and body parts through energy channels in the body. By applying pressure to reflex areas, a Reflexologist is said to remove energy blockages and promote health in the related body area.

  Aromatherapy

  Uses natural oils extracted from flowers, bark, stems, leaves, roots or other parts of a plant to enhance psychological and physical well-being. These essential oils are blended specifically to the individual in a treatment for their health concern and applied with gentle massage.
  
  The inhaled aroma from these essential oils is widely believed to stimulate brain function. Essential oils can also be absorbed through the skin, where they travel through the bloodstream and can promote whole-body healing. It is used for a variety of applications, including pain relief, mood enhancement and increased cognitive function.

  Is used to encourage the natural drainage of the lymph, which carries waste products away from the tissues back toward the heart. Manual lymph drainage uses a very light amount of pressure and rhythmic circular movements to stimulate lymph flow. Lymphatic drainage is an important part of a lymphoedema treatment and can help with fluid retention and detoxification.

  A three hour package put together to treat from head to toe, again with the emphasis on holistic therapy (treating the body as a whole). The treatment starts with a deep foot soak, followed by pressure point reflexology to start removing the stress of the day. The next stage is a body scrub to remove dead skin cells, which lays the foundations for the body wrap - specialised herbal clay applied to help draw out the toxins from the body, sealed in with a wrap. Onto the face next with a pressure point facial massage to stimulate the meridians, followed by a rejuvenating face mask; whilst this is doing its magic, a scalp massage takes place. And to complete the process, a full body aromatherapy massage, using selected essential oils, takes place.
